Fern Howe Guest House is situated within the picturesque village of Braithwaite, 2.5 miles from the popular market town of Keswick in the beautiful Lake District National Park. Braithwaite is a popular tourist destination, with its quaint charm, three public houses, village store and local walks. It is gloriously located between Derwent Water and Bassenthwaite Lake. Fern Howe is set in the perfect location for families, cyclists, walkers, photographers and artists alike, with the vast array of local attractions on offer. Fern Howe provides high quality accommodation, food, drink and toiletries to ensure that guests have a relaxing and comfortable stay. The produce is locally sourced and free range wherever possible, as we are very passionate about supporting local businesses and providing a true, sustainable, Lake District experience. We also pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as we want your stay to the northern Lakes to be as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Due to the elevated position of the property within the village, most guest rooms have views out to the fells of Skiddaw, Latrigg and Blencathra, with the remaining rooms having views out to Fern Howe’s hillside garden and six-acre red squirrel protected woodland, with the addition of one courtyard garden room. We have a range of rooms to suit a range of guests, including double, twin, single and family rooms, all of which have en-suite bathrooms. Within the guest rooms there are flat screen TVs with Free-view; hair dryers; Out of Eden luxury toiletries; and complimentary Wi-Fi and Farrer’s tea/coffee making facilities and biscuits. There is also on-site parking for all guests. Fern Howe contains a relaxing guest lounge area, providing complimentary cake and tea/coffee making facilities. Within this area there is also a library and selection of games for guest use. In addition, we have an outdoor seating area, where guests can sit and admire the view over the fells, whilst perhaps enjoying a drink and snack. Further complimentary facilities include the use of a drying room; flask refills; literature on local cycle and walking routes; a bicycle storage area and jet wash; and discounts for local attractions.
